JCOLOR®
JC-100 Fluorescent
Pigment
FORMALDEHYDE-FREE
With
broad compatibility in most plastics, J COLOR JC-100
fluorescent pigment exhibits many advanced properties:
brilliant clean fluoresce, superior tinting strength,
melt-in type, easy mixing over the range of 135 to 230℃,
low plateout, no formaldehyde emission, good
low-temperature (150 to 180℃) dispersion, etc. JC-100
series is thus recommended for processes such as
extrusion, injection molding and blow molding. in
manufacturing of toys, safety equipment, graphic
sheeting, display packaging, vacuum-formed products,
banners, and many other eye-catching substance.

Processing Advantages
-
Formaldehyde-free. Environmental-friendly.
-
Melt-in type with low softening point
-
Broad processing temperature range between 135 - 230℃
-
Greatly reduced plateout in processing equipment,
resulting in less downtime.
-
A neutral additive; dose not add or detract from the
lubricity of the plastic for processing
-
excellent heat resistance,
Caution: Some color shift may occur under severe
heat conditions. The addition of one part antioxidant
per hundred parts of plastic to be processed is
recommended to minimize color shift.
Application in Plastics
As
universal plastic colorant, JC100 pigments are
recommended for the following plastics:

Suggested Colorant Level
For transparent plastics, the
fluorescent pigment level needed to develop fluorescent
brilliance versus the thickness of the plastic part are
recommended below:

For opaque plastics,
fluorescent pigment produces only surface fluorescence,
regardless of the concentration of pigment used.
Colorfastness
The
degree of colorfastness of JC-100 pigments depends on
the type of plastic, concentration of colorant, film
thickness, type and direction of exposure.
The incorporation of less than
1.0% ultraviolet screen of benaophenone or benzotriazole
types may result in up to 30% improvement in
colorfastness. Clear acrylic coatings containing 2 to 4%
of UV screens are also usually effective in enhancing
colorfastness. However, one should be careful in
selecting a compatible UV screen for the particular
plastic systems.
Storage
Under
conditions that are cool, dry, covered, away from direct
sunlight and free of airborne contaminates, the shelf
life of the JC-100 pigments will be indefinite. Upon
extended exposure to heat and humidity, JC-100 pigments
may form lumps that need to be pulverized before
use.
Toxicity
JC-100
fluorescent pigments are essentially non-toxic with zero
formaldehyde emission and extremely low heavy-metal
content, safe to be applied in end products such as
toys. Material safety data sheet or MSDS is available
upon request.
